Class Description:

Bringing a film into the world is a painstaking process that continues beyond the completion of post-production. Join director/producer team Emiliano Mazza de Luca and Martha Orozco (Nueva Venecia, SIFF 2016) as they breakdown the filmmaking process from conception to impact campaign, highlighting how filmmaking is more accessible than ever and that low budgets aren’t a barrier to telling your story.

Class Workload:

Registrants are not required to have watched any media in advance of the class. We will present film content within the class time.

About The Instructors:

Emiliano Mazza De Luca is a Uruguayan Director, Producer, and founder of PASSAPAROLA films. His most recent movie Vida On Board had its world premiere IDFA Competition and IDFA ON STAGE. His debut feature Nueva Venecia won the award for Best Documentary Feature Film at the Biarritz Latin Film Festival, also at Alantic doc Film Festival in Uruguay. Emiliano has given lectures on film impact in Colombia, Mexico, Chile, and Uruguay and has been a pitch juror at many film festivals in Latin America.Martha Orozco started her career as a filmmaker at a young age creating short films before transitioning and developing feature films in both Mexico and Spain. She has vast field production experience throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Her work has been broadcasted around the world with major networks like the BBC. She has received many accolades, including a Fiction Clermont Ferrand Award and a nomination to the Goya Awards.
