Free Intensive Trainings for Indigenous Rights Defenders at UNPFII 2024

Nia Tero, Indigenous Peoples Rights International (IPRI), and the UN Voluntary Fund will hold a series of four free virtual intensive trainings ahead of the 23rd Session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues in New York City in April 2024.
The four training sessions will be held for Indigenous rights defenders to learn more about engaging at this year’s UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII). This year’s theme focuses on the right to self-determination in the context of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, with an emphasis on Indigenous youth.
The trainings are open to Indigenous Peoples from around the world who want to learn more about the UNPFII and how to effectively engage in the process. All sessions will be available in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French.

All sessions will be held at these times on their scheduled dates:
- 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Rapa Nui
- 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Guyana and New York
- 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Brasilia and Suriname
- 4 to 5 p.m. in Geneva
- 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. in the Philippines
